Bowie Dick Test – Steam Penetration Checker

The Bowie Dick Test is performed to check the efficiency of the air removal and steam penetration in pre-vacuum steam sterilizers. It is important, and completed daily, before the first sterilization cycle in a hospital, lab or healthcare setting. The test sheet will demonstrate a colour change across the sheet evenly if steam sterilizer is working correctly , and will help to prevent ineffective sterilization as a result of air leaks or vacuum failure in the sterilizer.
